Starting Early

That was then --->

If my daughter starts her terrible twos 4 months early, does that mean it will get over four months early? She is the biggest messer!!! That is what we are mostely calling her these days-- the messer. She loves spreading my lipstick and toothpaste all over the house. She only eats pickles, yogurt, and chips. She screams "pickle, pickle, pickle" at the top of her lungs and when I say NO she has the most appaling tantrums I've ever seen. She cimbs up everything-- her favorite spot being the kitchen table. What happened to my sweet, darling little angel girl??!!! I thought I wouldn't have to ask that question until she was 12 or 13.

This is now ...

Seasons and Songs

I love seasons! At this particular point in time I am fanatically in love with Spring and all the songs that go with it. I am sure you all have your favorites. I love discovering new songs. For example "Everything's Right" by Matt Wertz and revisiting old favorites like America's "Sister Golden Hair and Ventura Highway" Simon and G's "Feelin' Groovy" which will always remind me of skinny dipping in lake powell on a hot cloudless summer day singing "feelin groovy" at the top of our lungs. I love the way that music can instantly transport you to another place and time-- all five senses engaged. Ohhh... big sigh, long day. I love the sun (even though we woke up to snow again this morning, it was gone before the beautiful sun went down again.) As my pa would say "Springtime in the Rockies..."

Thoughts on a rainy morning...

I made an amazing discovery this last week-- people actually read my blog. Not only that, but they check it on a regular basis and get a little irritated that I haven't posted since the end of January. I have a myriad or reasons/excuses for that. Probably at the top of the list being that I was pretty stinkin sick for 98% of February. Secondly, I should almost always be doing something else. Like now for instance, I have a pile of breakfast dishes in the sink, a mountain of laundry in the wash room, beds to make, errands to run, Ethan to pick up, a Bostyn who just walked downstairs with my lipstick all over her face-- ya know, the usual. Just so you can get some sort of idea why I really should not be sitting here at all. With that explanation given...

I love rain! I love sunshine better, but rain is a million percent better than snow. So i am actually quite content that the sky is dark and cloudy, because rain is the form of precipitation coming down for the first time in at least four months.
Also, a song just came on that totally took me back. It is amazing how quickly music can transport us to another place and time. It was Bruce Springsteen's Secret Garden from Jerry McGuire sp? which I have never seen so I really don't have a clue what it is really talking about when she is saying "i love him" about six times in a row. But I listened to it quite a bit at a tumultuous time in high school ( wasn't it all a little "tumultuous"), And wow, there I was. 15 again on hot summer nights pining over a boy I soon realized I never liked in the first place :). Oh gosh, you couldn't pay me to go back... but it is good to go back occasionally and appreciate where I am now because of all those experiences.
K that has gotta be it. Bostyn is trying to jump of the table....
Next time will be sooner than later.
