Christmas Cookies

Today we made sugar cookies-- using the best recipe in the world. Then I tried a new experiment. I do not like frosting on my cookies. It doesn't matter how yummy the frosting is-- I would rather just eat the cookies plain. So I decided to just try a glaze. Since we had tree cookies, heart cookies and star cookies. I make three bowls-- one red, one green, one yellow. I mixed 3/4 cup powdered sugar with 1 Tbl milk, 1/2 Tbs Corn syrup and 5 drops food coloring. Then I just dipped the cooled cookie face down into the glaze and returned face up to the cooling wrack to let dry. They were darling! And so much more yummy and easy than frosting the cookies. Then we took them around to some of our friends and neighbors for "Happy Family Night". Try it! It is great and fun!
