Our 5th Anniversary!

We decided we wanted to go back to California to celebrate our aniversary. We had some plane vouchers that we had received from Jesse's uncles for christmas and we really wanted to see their new beach house and just be able to spend some time together before school started again. We got it all arranged and met my dad in Salt Lake Tuesday evening after spending a fun day at the Gateway and stuff with the kids (see previous post) and sent our little kidlets home with Gramp and Gram to be spoiled. I was so thankful to have somewhere to take my kids that I knew they would be happy and loved. I missed them A LOT! but I never worried about them. It made my vacation a true vacation! Thank you Mom and Dad! Then we flew out early, early wednesday morning and saw a beautiful sunrise coming up over our Wasatch Mountains, landed in Oakland with a whole day in front of us. Uncle Sam was there to pick us us. He took us shopping and out to lunch for our birthdays and just spoiled us in general. We were able to stop by Bloomsters and see all the people that jesse worked with while we lived there. Then there was a wonderful family dinner at Sam and Kren's house. It was so fun to see most of Kren's family again and be able to catch up with all of them. We did a lot of sleeping in and just relaxing. It was a great vacation. Thank you to all who made it possible. We love yoU! It was a great, big way to celebrate five years together... and still going strong.

Jesse surprised me and took me on the same cruise that he proposed to me on! It was so awesome! We got to watch the fog roll in over the city, and sail right past Alcatraz and under the golden gate bridge! The sunset was beautiful, the food was great, and when the city lights started popping on and twinkling over the water I was so amazed!

We had the best time at Fisherman's Warf! I love that place. It was a beautiful sunny day! And it was so much fun to just walk around and play tourist. We barked way down at the south end of Embarcadaro and walked all the way up to Girahdelli and back again! We had a great time!

We had a great time hanging out in Santa Cruz. We spent quite a bit of time there while we were dating and engaged. That is where we had our pictures taken for our wedding anouncement and stuff. There was a big concert on the beach and then we went to dinner at this amazing little italian restaurant. The beach house was about 15 minutes south of Santa Cruz and to get there we had to go through several fields of strawberrys and brusselsprouts. Jesse had to stop and talk to the local workers of course! But he was able to find a guy that he always bought strawberries from when we lived there and we were in strawberry heaven! I made jam and chocolate dipped strawberries and smoothies. They are the best strawberries in the world!

We had the best time In jesse's uncle Sam and Kren's beach house. It was pretty cold and foggy most of the time we were there and it was great to just relax by the fire, snuggle, eat chocolate and watch the olympics! Check out that chandelier!

Mamma Mia!

I went to see this movie with my mom and my Aubrey sister! We had so much FUN! We grew up listening to Abba music and six years ago when my mom came to see me in San Francisco I took her to see the theater production-- I loved it then and I love it even more in movie format! We laughed and cried and had a hard time staying in our seats. We wanted to jump up and dance and sing right along with Meryl Streep! Such a great movie. my mom saw it with my dad a few days before she took aubrey and I. My dad loves Abba music too, so it went over pretty well. Mom said that dad was laughing so hard in places that people were looking at them. Anyway, so much fun! Definitely worth watching!

A whole morning of bloggin!

Whew! I did it! We are finally got up. Sorry for the tons and tons of posts. now hopefully they should start coming a little more regulary rather than ten after a month and a half of nothin'!

My little snuggle bug

After Ethan left for the primary activity Bostyn went up stairs and got her "night-night" (blanket) and crawled on the couch next to Jesse to watch USA vs Japan women's volleyball game. She is such a sweet pea!

AAARRRGH!

Ethan had a primary party this morning. It was a pirate activity. I thought we pulled together a pretty great costume in twenty minutes. Ethan was freaking out when I was putting the makeup on him, but I couldn't resist. He had a great time. He won the cupcake eating contest. His primary teacher said she put the cupcakes in front of the kids and said "k, it is arace! let's see who can eat their cupcakes the fastest!" And she said "go!" and Ethan shoved the entire thing into his mouth! No surprise there!

A Shock...

So my hair had a bit of an experience. My neighbor (who has been doing hair for years and years)put the color on my hair. I was going for a warm chestnut brown color. Something to match my eyebrows-- I am tired of keeping up the pretense that I am blonde. Well, this certainly isn't blonde and it isn't even the color i was going for but my sister assured me it would wash out and fade to the color I was thinking. I don't know-- my ends were black as pitch after I washed out the color. It has faded a little. Now it is really dark brown after washing it several times yesterday. And the funny thing is, now that I have the same color hair as my mother I still don't look a thing like her-- not that I thought I would. It is definitely going to take some getting used to.

The Birthday Boys!

The Birthday Boys! Jesse's is the 3rd of August-29 years old, Phil's is the 4th-25 years old and my dad's is the 8th and he turned the big 50. We love you so much! Happy Birthday!

Denton Family Reunion

We had so much fun at the Denton Family Reunion that my amazing mother was in charge of. She had a clown come and got one of those huge blow up slides for the kids. They had a blast! I didn't take very many pictures of everyone else but I have like 70-something cousins on that side of my family. My mom has ten brothers and sisters. Not everyone was there but it was so great to re-acquaint myself with everyone who was there. It was a brilliant success as far as reunions go! We had a great time! Thanks mom!
