Ethan had a horrible fall off of his bike while we were up camping in the Uintah mountains with my family. This is the actual reason that I quit blogging for a minute-- I didn't know what to say. It was the most awful scary experience of my life. Forty-five minutes after he fell seven feet down into a culvert and landed on his face, he was still crying and then he abruotly fell asleep on me. When I looked down a few minutes later there was a fairly steady stream of blood running out of his nose. I looked at Jesse and said "get the truck." We had no idea how far away an emergency room was but I knew we had to get to one as quickly as possible. Before we left someone suggested that he have a blessing. My brothers (phil and denton) and my wonderful husband gathered around my son and proceeded to bless him to heal completely and quickly with little pain. To make the longest, most terrifying day of my life shorter-- Ethan began vommiting blood in large quanities on the way down to the first town. we had to drive about and hour to get to the ER and then they sent us another 45 minutes down the canyon, after doing a brief examination on Ethan and taking x-rays of his neck, to get a CT scan. Several hours later we were told he had a moderately severe concussion and four broken bones in his face and eye socket. He took the truck back up the mountain to go get Bostyn and all our stuff that I had spent several days getting ready. My family had it all packed up and ready to go when we got there. Ethan seemed to be doing amazingly well. we drove home that night and had an early appointment the next morning with a face doctor. These pics are the worst of the bruising. He was in very little pain and recovered miraculously quickly. I am so thankful to a worthy husband and brothers who were able to invoke the power of our Heavenly Father and give my son a blessing. He is doing so well-- the only repercussions seem to be that he will not get on his bike now.-- maybe next summer. I am in no hurry to rush him.

So so scary. I didn't realize that he broke bones in his face. So they obviously can't do anything about them and they just have to heal on there own. I can't believe that he looks perfect now.
