Halloween time... not quite what we had planned...

I love fall time. Most of you probably know that. I am however not much of a halloween fan... started about the time I was eight, dressed up as a really ugly ghost and fell into a canal ditch in the middle of trick-or-treating. But for my children's sake I have made an effort to take all the fun, good parts of this holiday and give it to my children. All my well made plans flew out the window after all of us suffered from a major round with the swine flu-H1N1 thing. It pretty much took Bostyn out and by Halloween morning and three days of her not moving I knew I couldn't do any more and that we had to take her in. Note: I had called the hospital a few times. The first time to see if I could get the tami-flu shot for my kids (the answer was "no, we don't have any, just treat the symptoms". The second time to tell them I was bringing Bostyn in because she had a 105 degree fever after three days of massive congestion and was throwing up every forty minutes, only to have them tell me that they didn't have space for her but that they would send an ambulance if she became unconscious or quit breathing and to call my pediatrician in the morning. She never really recovered from that night and so we took her in (no calling this time...) She had pneumonia and was seriously dehydrated and basically amazingly sick. Getting the IV and all the blood drawn was torturous! mostly for her. I hate getting them, but I don't have any problem watching or even assisting in this case. They had to try a couple of times. Anyway, that was a few weeks ago and much has happened since then in our life that I will try to catch up on in the next day or two. Thank you for all the love and support we received during this difficult time. The fasting and prayers made the difference! We did have a great time at the annual pumpkin walk earlier in october. Ethan's face fit so perfect into all the face holes, it was cracking me up.
